At your initial consultation, we will discuss your orthodontic needs and evaluate whether clear aligner treatment is right for you. There are options when it comes to aligners, and we are happy to give guidance on which system is best for you.
We will use a scanner such as the 3Shape Digital scanning system to create fast, precise 3D digital images of your teeth. Then, we will map out a precise treatment plan, including the exact movements of your teeth and how long your treatment will be. You’ll even get to see how your teeth will move and preview your new smile.
Your custom-made aligners will be made of a proprietary material. They’re virtually invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them during your teeth straightening. Wear your clear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day for the best results, and take them out only to eat, brush, and floss.
As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth will gently and gradually shift into place. We may recommend that you begin wearing a new set of aligners every week and schedule checkups every six weeks or so.
When your treatment is complete, ask us about a set of retainers. Retainers are custom-made using the same state-of-the-art technology as clear aligners.
As you enjoy your results, it’s important to be mindful of old habits. Avoid habits that might have contributed to misalignment in the first place, such as tongue thrusting or nail-biting.
To learn more about the Clarity and Inman systems and all your orthodontic treatment options, please feel free to schedule an appointment at our office. We look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a smile that’s made to move!
Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are nearly invisible, removable, and don’t involve wires or brackets. They provide a discreet and comfortable option for your straightening teeth without the restrictions of wearing braces.
Clear aligners are ideal for individuals with mild to moderate orthodontic issues, such as crooked teeth, gaps, or minor bite irregularities. A consultation with our team will determine if aligners are suitable for your needs.
Treatment length varies depending on individual needs but typically ranges from 6 to 18 months. Consistently wearing your aligners as prescribed—20 to 22 hours a day—is crucial for achieving the desired results.
To keep your aligners clean and clear, rinse them with water and use a soft-bristle toothbrush and mild soap daily. Avoid using hot water, as it can warp the plastic, and remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water.
No, you should remove your aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water. This prevents staining, damage, and food particles from getting trapped in the aligners.
